The big day is upon us!

The Xcel Energy Day of Service trail build project kicks off at 9am Saturday, Sep 7. We will work until noon. Everyone who’s coming must sign up and complete the waiver.
Online registration ends Sep 5!
ESA and Erie Parks and Recreation Department are working together to make sure you have a great time building these trails. We will provide water, Gatorade, and snacks during the work day. All the tools will be on site and the trail will be marked. Just show up, meet your crew leader, and grab a tool. This dirt is relatively easy to shape and we expect the entire front side to be complete by the end of the day.
Wear long pants, work boots, hat, gloves, and sunscreen. It will be pretty hot and there are a lot of weeds that like to creep into your socks.
Day-of registration will be available on site if you are on the fence about committing. Everyone who volunteers will get a wristband which is your ticket to the free ESA party at the Erie Ballpark.

Location, Directions and Parking: From I-25, take Exit 232 (Erie exit) and go west on Erie Parkway. Continue west for 2 miles. Take a left at Weld County Road 5 which is at the 4-way stop sign. Continue south for 1 mile. Go right on Weld county Road 6. Parking will be along the sides of the road. Parking will be available along Weld County Road 6 (dirt road), west of Weld County Road 5 – please follow the traffic flagger’s instructions. Getting to the work site will require some walking.

The open space land we are building on is called Sunset. Our effort on Saturday will focus on the trails you see here. This area has amazing views and dynamic landscape. Don’t miss out on a opportunity to shape this breathtaking trail system!
Want to help but don’t have time to volunteer? Your donations will get these trails built.

When the work is done, it’s time to celebrate!

Miner’s Tavern is supplying burgers and sides for free!
Beer from Echo Brewery will be for sale at a great price. Water and Gatorade will be available for free.
The concessions stand will be open if you would rather have pizza, candy, non-alcoholic beverages, or Coors products. Don’t miss this awesome event! We will celebrate the work accomplished and there may be a prize or two to give away.
ESA donations will be accepted and all proceeds will go towards building great trails!
